spring 2010
steel, cotton, wire mesh
nude model, model in jersey dress
and knit cords, shoes from a
previous performance

The cotton pod was made with an indentation shaped to cradle a figure. Arm holes were built into the walls, allowing the viewer to reach into the pod, nearly deep enough to touch the figure. It was built on rockers so the whole structure could sway, as controlled by a second figure holding handles at the front of the pod. The whole construction creaked as it moved. If not held, the pod would rock completely, causing the model inside to fall out.
